Immunological studies with a commercial preparation of human chorionic gonadotropin.

چکیده
Immunological methods are being used to determine human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in urine and serum during pregnancy (1-4) and also to localize it in tissues and tumors (5). The antisera used in these studies (1-5) were produced by immunizing rabbits with HCG preparations of widely varying specific activities. The HCG-HCG antisera characterization studies that were performed primarily with agar gel immunodiffusion, or immunoelectrophoresis, or both, have demonstrated the presence of two or more antigenic components (4, 6-8). Two ways of producing HCG-specific antisera have been reported. McKean (2) produced them by using a purified HCG preparation as antigen. An alternative is the adsorption of crude HCG antisera with urine or serum extracts to remove precipitins and extraneous antibodies (3, 6, 7). This study presents methods for the production of antibodies to HCG in rabbits and guinea pigs. The detection of HCG antibodies and HCG by hemagglutination and hemagglutination inhibition methods have been described. It has been possible to demonstrate several protein contaminants in a commercial HCG preparation by immunoelectrophoresis and electrophoresis. The adsorption of nonrelated antigenic components in the HCG antisera with normal male urine extract has been studied by immunoelectrophoresis, hemagglutination, and bioassay methods.

Fabrication of an Electrochemical Immunosensor for Determination of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Based on PtNPs/Cysteamine/AgNPs as an Efficient Interface
An ultrasensitive electrochemical immunosensor for the detection of tumor marker human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) was developed with a limit of detection as low as 2 pg mL-1 in phosphate buffer. The Platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) were electrodeposited to modify the gold surface and to increase enlarging the electrochemically active sites, resulting in the facilitation of electron exchange. Cy...

Background: Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a member of glycoprotein hormones family consist of two different non-covalently heterodimeric chains: alpha and beta subunits with 92 and 145 amino acids respectively. This hormone plays an important role in human reproduction and physiology especially for maintenance of the corpus luteum during the first months of pregnancy Materials and Metho...

Background This research investigated the response of vascular active factors, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and angiotensin-II (AT-II) to ovarian stimulation during 24 hours in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). MaterialsAndMethods In this clinical trial study, 52 patients with PCOS and 8 control cases were stimulated with human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) on the 4th ...
متن کاملImmunoassay for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Based on Glassy Carbon Electrode Modified with an Epitaxial Nanocomposite
A highly sensitive electrochemicalimmunosensor was developed to detect hCG based on immobilization ofhCG-antibody (anti-hCG) onto robust nanocomposite containing Gr, Chit,1-methyl-3-octyl imidazolium tetra fluoro borate ionic liquid (IL)(Gr-IL-Chit). AuNPs were used to immobilize hCG antibody on the modifiedelectrode. The amine groups of the antibody are cova...
